Advance Illinois is the only statewide independent education advocacy organization in Illinois focused exclusively on improving academic achievement through public policy advancements.
Advance Illinois will be an independent, objective voice to promote a public education system in Illinois that prepares all students to be ready for work, college, and democratic citizenship.
- Provide objective research and data about the state of education in Illinois.
- Listen to what citizens and key stakeholders have to say about education and workforce needs.
- Develop a comprehensive, multi-issue policy agenda for change.
- Work in partnership with other groups and leaders to mobilize citizen support for implementing that policy agenda.
By listening to Illinois residents and distilling the best research, we have developed a framework of education policy priorities that, when implemented, will help provide a world-class education to all Illinois youth. Throughout our deliberations, we have been guided by these core principles.
Our board is a collection of some of the most influential leaders in Illinois. The board spans a range of experience and ideas. They are committed to transformational change in Illinois that creates a public school system that prepares every child to compete in the global economy and become productive citizens.
Our staff is committed to education. With experience in outreach, communications and policy development we will analyze the data, reach out to stakeholders and leaders, and study best practices to develop comprehensive policies and get them implemented.
