Advance Illinois hosted Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and more than 300 civic leaders and educators at a breakfast Friday, June 19th, following the release of their policy recommendations. The event brought together those who will now help us see through the fundamental changes offered in the report We Can Do Better. This is a video of highlights of the speeches, including one question everyone in the room wanted to hear the Secretary answer.

Co-sponsored by Advance Illinois, Millikin University and the Decatur Area Education Coalition, the meeting drew a diverse crowd to discuss the problems facing schools in Illinois, and specifically Decatur and Macon County, and to offer suggestions for effective solutions to those problems
