Can Illinois Race to the Top? Yes, We Can!Illinois has an historic chance to invest in planned reforms in classrooms throughout the state. These reforms are consistent with existing state priorities and can help move the state closer to an education system that prepares all Illinois school children to be "world ready."
The state is applying for more than $500 million from the U.S. Department of Education’s “Race to the Top” competition. The competition asks states to make critical reforms that support student achievement and close achievement gaps.
