Precious Allen

How did you decide to go into the education field?

I decided to go into the field of education because I've always wanted to make a change and help the current generation be better than the one before it. I desire to make a difference, and I want to mold students into being competitive global citizens and innovative critical thinkers.

How has school funding made a difference in your classroom?

School funding has made a significant impact in my classroom, especially when it comes to math and reading materials; which can enhance the learning experience. Having the necessary resources ensures that my students can explore, learn, and develop strong foundational skills in both math and reading.

What resources and supports can further benefit your classroom/school/community?

Resources and support is needed when trying to implement STEMM projects. With increased funding towards STEMM, I'll be able to introduce engaging STEMM projects that spark curiosity and critical thinking in my students.

Who/What inspires you? Why?

My students inspire me every day with their boundless curiosity, resilience, and genuine eagerness to learn. Witnessing their enthusiasm for discovering new things and overcoming challenges is truly uplifting.

What accomplishment fills you with pride so far this year?

Being able to enter into the New Year with all of my students being healthy and well.

If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?

I would share the song, "I Hope You Dance", the Gladys Knight version.

What is your favorite movie/book?

“Friday” and “The Untethered Soul”
